Pointers on the best way to write a Compare and Contrast Essay

Hello all! Here are some tips to help you write your essay:

1. Introduction:

• You must introduce the topic of the essay - what are you writing about? explain.
• Example (please make sure you do not use this as an example, if you plagiarize or cheat - your grade will be a 0)
• Myths, Fables, Fairytales and Legends have many similarities and many differences. In this essay I will be discussing what they are, while also including my own opinion on the four types of writing. I will end the essay by telling you which one is my favorite and why.

2. Body Paragraph 1&2:

• You can start by discussing the similarities between the 4

3. Body Paragraph 3&4:

• You can then move on to discussing the difference between the 4

4. Body Paragraph 5&6:

• Include your own opinion - which one is your favorite and why?

5. Conclusion:

• You must conclude (or end) your essay. This paragraph will usually start with ‘in conclusion’
• Example (this is not real, I have made this up just to give you an example of what it would look like): In conclusion - Myths, Fables, Fairytales and Legends have more similarities than differences. It is for this reason that they are sometimes confused. However, the differences between them are quite extreme, meaning that each one has its own character and although they are all related, are still very different.

Please also use transitional words from the table I have included, it will help you a lot and make your essay much better :)
