Shakespeare Vocabulary

Regard: To consider or think of in a specific way.

Pre-eminent: Surpassing all others, very distinguished in some way.

Narrative Poem: A form of poetry that tells a story, often using the voice of a narrator and characters.

Verses: A group of lines that form a unit in a poem or song; a stanza.

Authorship: The state or fact of being the writer of a book, article, or document (or the 
creator of a work of art).

Retired: Having left one’s job and ceased to work.

Will: A legal document containing instructions as to what should be done with one’s money 
and property after one’s death.

Tragicomedy: A play or novel containing elements of both comedy and tragedy.

Collaborated: Work jointly on an activity or project.

Diverse: Showing a great deal of variety; very different.

Re-interpret: To explain the meaning of (information or actions) in a different way.

Bulk: Something large in quantity, size or shape.
